The Flash News can establish that the meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government’s negotiation team ended in a stalemate.

The president of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, confirmed to Channels Television on Monday that the union would meet with the Federal Government’s team.

Osodeke promised Nigerians that the union would end its strike if the federal government made a reasonable proposal.

Our correspondent learned that the meeting took place at the National Universities Commission and was led by Emeritus Professor Nimi-Briggs.

“The meeting concluded with no conclusion in sight.” Our reporter was informed by a highly reputable source within the ASUU NEC that there were no fresh topics of discussion.

When approached, Osodeke did not immediately react to our correspondent’s questions.

Ben Goong, the ministry of education’s spokeswoman, stated that the minister would update the media on Thursday.

ASUU initiated a strike on Monday, February 14, 2022, to press its demands.
