Georginio Wijnaldum, a midfielder for the Netherlands, agreed to a one-year loan with Roma on Friday following a tumultuous year with French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
After five seasons with Liverpool, the 31-year-old Wijnaldum joined PSG, but found it difficult to establish himself in the French city.
Only 18 of his Ligue 1 starts and three of his Champions League starts involved him.
Nemanja Matic, Paulo Dybala, and Wijnaldum are all recent additions to Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Roma placed sixth in Serie A the previous year.
