President Buhari Seeks Senate Approval On Tanko Mohammad’s Appointment As CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad to the Senate for endorsement as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The Presidents solicitation was sent in a letter to the Senate on Thursday.

A subsequent letter was likewise sent by President Muhammdu Buhari, looking for the endorsement for the arrangement of 15 unique counsels.

Buhari’s solicitation comes multi-day after the National Judicial Council (NJC) ascended from an Emergency Meeting to prescribe to the President, the arrangement of Hon. Dr. Equity Tanko Muhammad, as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The NJC likewise on Wednesday prescribed eight different people as Heads of Court.

Following a gathering which was at first managed by Hon. Mr Equity Umaru Abdullahi, CON, the NJC said it considered and endorsed the proposal of its Interview Committee that screened the two applicants displayed by the Federal Judicial Service Commission to it for the arrangement as Chief Justice of Nigeria.
