Ruga: Police Warns Against Protests In Plateau

The police in Plateau State yesterday warned residents contemplating s protest on the over the establishment of Ruga settlement to drop the idea.

The command reminded residents and any aggrieved members that the police ban on public procession is still in force.

A statement issued in Jos by the Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Terms, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said: “The Plateau State Police Command, Jos, wishes to inform the good people of Plateau State that there is a total ban on any form of public procession.

“This is as a result of the credible intelligence the command has received that some misguided elements, who are bent on destroying the relative peace being enjoyed in Plateau State want to hide under the guise of procession to achieve their evil intentions.

“The command, therefore, appeals to the residents of Plateau State to apply and seek its permission for security coverage in all similar outings.

“The command enjoins all the law-abiding residents in the state to go about their lawful businesses. Accept the assurances of the Commissioner of Police utmost regards, please.”
