The Lagos State Ministry Of Education has stated that the 2016/2017 academic session will commence in Lagos State public and private schools on September 19, 2016.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who made this known in her Eid-El-Kabir message to stakeholders in education sector made it known that all classes will commence running from the resumption date as there is no time to waste.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule urged both teaching and non-teaching staff of public schools to report at their duty posts promptly as officers of the Education Quality Assurance office have been directed to monitor strict compliance.
She praised the teachers in the state for their dedication to duty while describing the outstanding performances of Lagos students in the results of the various external examinations and the result of the 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as a clear departure from the past.
She, however, urged all parents and guardians to ensure that their wards resumed on the appointed date.
