V. Bob-Mamuel-led Magistrate Court sitting in Oke Eda, Akure, Ondo State on Thursday ordered for the remand of a police inspector, Anthony Nwadike, in prison custody for allegedly killing an okada rider in Omifon in Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the deceased, Sunday Joseph and two other persons were allegedly shot by the officer during an argument.
The three persons were said to be riding on a motorcycle when they met the accused officer and other policemen at a checkpoint.
However, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the offences when the charges were read to him.
In his ruling, Magistrate V. Bob-Mamuel ordered that the accused person be remanded in Olokuta Prison and adjourned the case till October 12, 2016.
