Legal Practitioners are supposed to make laws and see to proper execution of laws and regulations binding a nation, but some lawyers have been caught writing examination for students at the Nigerian Law School.
The Director-General of Nigerian Law School, Professor Olanrewaju Onadeko, has revealed this during an event organised by the Nigerian Bar Association.
According to a popular daily, Professor Onadeko stated while presenting the school‘s report to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt.
He, however, did not state the number of affected lawyers but said the matter has been reported to the NBA.
He also urged the association to take action against such lawyers to save legal education in the country.
In reaction to this, Mr Rotimi Jacob (SAN), urged the NBA to address the issue raised by the Law School director-general and that those found guilty should be disciplined after due process had been followed to determine their cases.
The outgoing President of NBA, Augustine Alegeh however said the association had not received report of such incident in the past two years.
He added that the NBA has a committee to handle the matter on receipt of the report.
