The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNNAB) has extended students’ resumption till further notice.
It will be recalled that student of the institution, last week Thursday, embarked on peaceful protest, which later turned violent, over incessant robbery attacks and rape cases on students leaving off campus.
A student was reportedly shot during the protest and is currently at the hospital, responding to treatment.
In a statement by the Head of the Directorate of Public Relations, Mrs Emi Alawode the authorities said a committee had been set up by the school management during a special Senate meeting held on Monday to look at the direct and indirect causes of the protest, in order to prevent such in the nearest future.

“Consequently, the earlier declared mid-semester break has been extended till further notice, pending when the committee’s report would have been considered by the university. Students are also enjoined to ignore any payment directives through the social media, as currently being circulated,” he said.
